A Beautiful Moment
I had a touching experience a few days ago which left an impression upon me. We had a visiting priest, who has ben here for the last few weeks and who is aware that I pray the Divine Office before the morning Mass. This particular morning, he asked me had I already prayed Morning Prayer and I said I had not; he then asked if it would be alright for him to join me in praying it. Early In The Morning
I am very fortunate in that, after I have prepared everything for the morning Mass which will follow later, I am able to just sit in the presence of the Lord who is in the Tabernacle, all alone – except for Him – and in perfect silence. I leave sufficient time to allow me to do this, because I really treasure that time, which is very, very special to me. In the later part of the year, I often find myself sitting there in near darkness before I switch the church lights on. It is a blessed time. Divine Worship Daily Office II
In the summer, I had written a short piece about a new daily Office (Liturgy of the Hours) book I had bought, called Divine Worship Daily Office (Commonwealth Edition), very beautifully published in a single volume by CTS (Catholic Truth Society). This book is the version of the Liturgy of the Hours prepared for the members of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, and fully approved by the Catholic Church. The Ordinariate members are those former Anglicans who have embraced Catholicism, whilst still retaining some of the particular and distinctive elements from their Anglican patrimony.
